Teche Federal Bank
Teche Federal Bank is a mid-sized bank with seventeen branches located throughout South Louisiana. Teche Federal is headquartered in New Iberia, Louisiana and its services include both business and personal banking.
Teche Federal Bank has a small IT department that does a very effective job of supporting the Teche network and banking application infrastructure. Since January 2003, Teche has maintained a relationship with Sparkhound in order to supplement its staff when additional projects need completion as well as for gaining additional experience in the use of advance technologies such as intranet applications, electronic forms, and security assessments & compliance.
Security Audit, Documentation, and Policy Manual
As is the case with most financial institutions, maintaining the security of customer information is critical. Sparkhound has delivered several business solutions to address this concern, including performing regular security audits and developing a security policy manual.
Ensured compliance with the Graham-Leach- Bliley act while spearheading the effort to write and publish an internal Information Security Policy Manual. This manual included all aspects of network security, intrusion detection, and physical security. This is currently included as a critical part of the Human Resources Policy Manual that is mandated to all employees. After performing an internal security audit, Sparkhound supervised a third party in performing a Federal Security Audit.
Intranet Development
Sparkhound has developed the intranet for Teche Federal Savings Bank. The intranet provides a single portal for all banking applications and has significantly reduced the number of calls to its helpdesk for network support. The intranet is hosted internally and contains the electronic forms necessary to performing most job functions within the bank.
Infrastructure Support
Sparkhound provides a network engineer to Teche Federal on as needed basis for troubleshooting the network, performing routine maintenance, or working on specific pre-determined projects and/or tasks.
