Xamarin Dev Days

October 10, 2016

Xamarin Dev Days are free day-long trainings for mobile development happening all over the world. They are put on by local Xamarin experts and user groups and are a great opportunity to either get started or hone your existing mobile development skills.

Have you ever been to SQLSaturday or Houston TechFest? These large technical conferences are great for their vast categories to reach the largest number of people; however, they can be lacking if you want a deep dive into specific areas. Xamarin Dev Days will be like this except only mobile development ALL DAY LONG! Taken straight from Xamarin's Blog, "Xamarin Dev Days are the place to find free hands-on Xamarin training, live demos, and a fun environment to build your very own cloud-based Xamarin.Forms application with Azure.

The schedule is three sessions in the morning, break for lunch, then an entire afternoon dedicated to a hands-on lab/hackathon.

Xdd Agenda

Not only do you learn about mobile development in the morning, but you get a hands-on session where you can create your own app! Maybe you are already experienced with mobile development but need help with design, architecture, or implementation. Come and talk to other mobile developers from the Baton Rouge area that have tons of experience! If you're in Baton Rouge on Friday November 4th 2016, you can attend the first Xamarin Dev Days in Louisiana. Hurry and register, space is limited. Check out the official Xamarin posting for more information, and follow along with Xamarin Dev Days events around the world with the hashtag #XamarinDevDays.

Community events are invaluable - not only for their knowledge but also for networking and socializing. If you are interested in seeing .NET related topics in the area, come check out the Baton Rouge .NET User Group, on the second Wednesday of the month. We also meet jointly with the Baton Rouge SQL Server User Group if that's more up your alley.

Is this interesting, want to learn more, or want to get more involved with the community? Sparkhound's in-house developers work with Xamarin and many other technologies daily! Get in touch with us so we can discuss how we can help your business achieve its goals through leadership and technology.
