Executive Summary

As a technology-driven engineering, procurement and construction company managing a $16 billion industrial petrochemical project in Saudi Arabia, the client needed a strategic partner to design, build and implement a customized collaboration portal for 4,000 users around the world.

CHALLENGE

The client’s current system was not conducive for the project’s multi-company, geographically dispersed team worldwide. It had limited collaboration capabilities and separate, manual processes for each workfl ow. With limited IT resources, it needed a strategic partner who could:  Recommend a reliable, robust hosting environment with security 24 hours a day, seven days a week  Build a scalable infrastructure for processing, approving and storing more than 60,000 workforce files among multiple stakeholders  Customize security settings for authentication and object-level controls for more than 150 sites and 4,000 users

SOLUTION

After selecting a secure, global hosting platform with Rackspace, Sparkhound delivered a customized enterprise application solution that enabled the client and its investors to collaborate around the world and around the clock:  Utilized Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS) to build a collaborative portal that streamlined workflow processes  Migrated content from third-party environment into a scalable SharePoint environment within an aggressive timeline  Implemented an iterative, agile-driven methodology and automated processes for seamless collaboration .

IMPACT

Because of Sparkhound’s day-to-day delivery focus, the customized, collaborative portal was launched on time and under budget. By automating the internal onboarding and off-boarding processes, stakeholders were set up for long-term business success.
